Lackawanna County Interagency Council Met at: Telespond On: December 14, 2005
The meeting was called to order at 9:45 a.m. by Chris Davis, President. We had 31 members present representing 21 agencies: Chris Davis, Nancy Kilmer, Cheryl Rutkowski, Judi Cimino, Peggy Pesta, Sylvia Crocci, Coleen Davitt, Carolyn Tugend, Janice Lamm, Kathy Dunstone, Mary Kati Grande, Paul Molter, Fran Davis, Bonnie Urzen, Tony Delonti, Jim Martin, Bob Davis, Michele Davis, Linda Denault, Mark Taffera, Mary Louise Loftus, Vikki Crosby, Lynette Krisge, Jim Festa, Olga Harper, Evie Vitali, Janet Kuhlthau, Jim Pusaterri, Sr. Ann Walsh, Joann Stephens, Cindy Lombard and Diana Statsman. Introductions were made. Judi made a motion to dispense of the minutes and treasurers report until the January 2006 meeting. Seconded by Mary Louise. All in favor. Wonderful holiday treats were provided by members and enjoyed by all. Recipes were collected and will be made available to all members. OLD BUSINESS: v Website is up and running www.lackawannainteragency.org. Carolyn announced she will do a training to maintain the website after the holidays. Anyone interested should let her know 496-0296 or carolyn@eocinc.org. We will use the website to share agency events and information. Anytime a member agency has something to post, send to Nancy at nmk11@psu.edu or 963-6842. The purchase of the website also comes with several free email addresses. If any member does not have an email address and would like one, please let us know. Jim Pusaterri stated that it would be best to send all information for posting to the website in Word. v Two checks for $100.00 each were presented to Nurse Family Partnership and Salvation Army.
NEW BUSINESS: v Election of officers. Our nominating committee, Carolyn and Michele, presented the slate of officers for 2006. President – Chris Davis, Vice President – Jane Oswald, Treasurer – Cheryl Rutkowski, and Secretary – Nancy Kilmer. There were no nominations from the floor. Vikki made a motion that the nominations be closed, seconded by Sr. Ann. All in favor. v AGENCY UPDATES –Jim Festa announced that Katrina brought around 50 families to our area and that one family still in the area requested some holiday assistance. Jim will email members with the family’s ages and sizes after seeking permission. Suggestions were made to also contact Sr. Adrian and UNC. v NEXT MEETING –January 18, 2006, 9:00 a.m. at Salvation Army. There being no further business, we sang Jingle Bells. Fran made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mary Louise. The meeting was followed by a tour of the Telespond facility. We strongly urge anyone caring for an older adult to contact them for a tour and more information about their adult day care program. Respectfully Submitted, Nancy Kilmer Secretary
