Lackawanna County Interagency Council Met at: Salvation Army On: November 15, 2006 The meeting was called to order at 9:05 a.m. by Chris Davis, President. We had 27 members present representing 24 agencies: Chris Davis, Cheryl Rutkowski, Nancy Kilmer, Brooke Addley, Linda Denault, Denise Summa, Mickey McConnon, Beth Rundell, Stig Fromm, William Torres, Pedro Gonzalez, Sylvia Kolosinsky, Vikki Crosby, Nancy Fahey, Keri Nat, Janet Burtan, Jim Simoncelli, Maria Munley, Nichole Laiuvara, Erica Anstett-Bozentka, Marge Suarez, Sr. Caroline DeAngelus, Cheryl Roglich, Janice Lamm, Ann Pusateri, Ann Lynady, and Frankie Ferraro. Introductions were made. Minutes were reviewed and approved. Treasurer reported a balance of $745.69 as of November 15, 2006. OLD BUSINESS: v Holiday Meeting Date has been changed to the 2nd Wednesday, December 13, 9-11 AM. Meeting will be held at SCOLA, 2013 Boulevard Avenue. Directions will be forwarded to members. o Holiday Treats Vikki again volunteered to be in charge. A sign-up sheet was passed around. She will send reminders. Please remember to bring a copy of the recipe to be included in the minutes. v Nominating Committee Pam Orvec was not present no additional volunteers. Discussion followed as to the importance of this committee as Chris and Nancys terms end in December. Nancy also announced that she is changing positions within Penn State Extension and would no longer be able to attend meetings on a regular basis. Chris will continue to give support to the new officers as Past President. Frankie Ferraro volunteered for Secretary and Ann Lynady volunteered for Vice President. Current VP, Jane Oswald, was not present. That position is dependent upon Janes acceptance as President. Voting will take place at the December meeting. If any member would like to make a nomination or volunteer for one of the open positions, please contact one of the current officers. NEW BUSINESS: v Membership Committee no report, we did not meet since the last meeting. v Spring Luncheon Topic no additional suggestions v SPEAKER Pedro SWEETS Gonzalez Latino Cultural Diversity Center Phone 504-4455 or 604-7884. This is a free program for children that teaches theater, arts, dance and also strengthens their English. One of their aims is to teach the children about their heritage. Look for them at the Health Fair at Nativity Church December 3. They would love to participate in your next health fair. Their programs are free to non-profit agencies. Currently working with United Neighborhood Centers teens and adapting the program to work with the younger youth as well. You can join Pedro weeknights for Latin Aerobics, 6:15-7:15, 1212 S. Main Street, cost $5.00.
