Welcome and Call to Order – Cindy Kennedy, President The meeting was called to order and all were welcomed and new members recognized. 2. Secretary’s Report – Kathleen Radkewicz, Secretary a. Approval of Minutes- A Call for approval of minutes. A motion from member Terri Stocki for approval of minutes was accepted and seconded by Jane Oswald. b. The Membership Sign-in Sheet was circulated 3. Treasurer’s Report – Joanne Stephens, Treasurer a. Balance as of September 2010 was $1,618. There were additional deposits for a total $1,813.38. Members were thanked and recognized for recruiting new organizations into the membership by Cindy Kennedy.

Home Instead Senior Care- “Be a Santa for a Senior” gift drive for Lackawanna County Seniors that are financially needy and/or w/o company for the holidays Free CEUs via Home Instead Webinar, contact Jessica Engel @ 570 687-4755 4. Consumer Credit counseling Service- Home program oct 28th, 6-9pm 401 Laurel St Pittston;Free document shredding Oct 22 5. Career Links- Health Careers Week, Nov 8-12 7. Friends of the Poor- sponsoring collection of recyclable fabric items @ Our Lady of Peace School Nov 4,5,6, 8am -5pm and Nov 7 noon-3pm 8. Catholic Social Services “Gifts for Kids” Nov 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19th 9;30 -11:30 am and 1:30 – 4:30pm Parents should bring photo ID/verification of income/social security card and proof of address with recent date
5. Old Business a. Membership Directory – Adelle Zavada The final draft is ready to go for print. If any member would like to be included in the Interagency Council Directory, please e-mail Adelle Zavada as soon as possible to insure inclusion. Marshall Parker and Associates has agreed to sponsor the printing of the directories. b. Speaker Sign Up 2010- Cindy Kennedy The speaker sign-up list has filled up quickly. There are only spots left for May and June 2011. Please sign-up on the Speaker Sign-Up List or e-mail me at ckennedy@mfhs.org. c. IAC Lackawanna County Courthouse Health-Follow Up –Cindy Kennedy We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Nancy Fahey who worked diligently to get the Health Fair up and running this year at the Lackawanna Courthouse. Unfortunately the tent rental vendors were uncooperative with availability and then with costs. Therefore, the decision was made to postpone it for this season. Thank You again the Nancy!!! 6. New Business – IAC Members- Jane Oswald a. Sign Up for Christmas Grants Award Committee – Jane Oswald A committee is being formed to select mini-grant applications for member organizations. Anyone wishing to be a part of the process and selection committee should e-mail or contact Jane Oswald
7 . Speaker , Kathy Wright,- of the Lupus Foundation of PA gave an overview of educational programs and services provided to the community. A Series of free workshops on Eating Well with Autoimmune Diseases for Patients and Family members will be provided twice monthly from September 2010 through June 2011. Free Monthly Support Services are also available at both the Pocono and Northeast Resource Centers; Alternative Approaches for Autoimmune Diseases is also offered by certified providers.
