The meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Jane Oswald, President.

 We had 25 members attending.

 Introductions were made.  Treasurer’s report as of August 31, 2007 is $1,451.09.

 OLD BUSINESS; 

bulletRequest for a Secretary or a Co-Secretary was mentioned.

 NEW BUSINESS:

     *  A motion was approved to renew the website with GoDaddy for $8.99

bulletA request for a meeting place for our Holiday Gathering was made and the Lupus Foundation offered their new location at 615 Jefferson Ave., next to the Jewish Community Center.  The offer was accepted.
bulletThe Catherine McCauley Center announced the beginning of their annual ‘Adopt a Family Program’.  Anyone interested in participating should contact Eileen King at 342-1421
bulletAnn Lynady, Vice-President, proposed that the Interagency Council ‘adopt’ a family since our bank balance is in a place that would allow that.  It was agreed that this is a good idea and we would proceed.
bulletThe Northeast Cancer Institute is hosting Family of Survivors Day at Nay Aug Park Sunday, October 7, 2007.   Anyone interested in participating can access the information at www.cancernepa.org
bulletFIRST has their Annual Directory available for $20.00/$50.00 – call 961-1234
bulletThe Salvation Army Christmas sign up will be from October 1 to October 5, 2007.  LIHEAP and Crisis fuel applications available November 15.  You can call 963-4842 and they will send application.  Income is 150% of Poverty Guidelines.
bulletThe Lupus Foundation will be hosting its annual Lupus Walk at Nay Aug Park on October 14, 2007.  To volunteer or walk call 888-995-8787 or 558-2008. 

 SPEAKERS – Evie Vitali & Olga Harper from the Penn State Cooperative Extension presented “Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program – EFNEP. 

 Eating better for less.  http://Lackawanna.extension.psu.edu for their local website.  Evie and Olga demonstrated how to make a nutritious snack from simple ingredients and demonstrated how much sugar was actually in a can or bottle of soda. 

 AGENCY UPDATES – Sister Ann Walsh has openings in her Infant/Mother Program.  Diana Statsman from Scola advised up that Scola will be hosting Scrabble Night on Wednesday September 26 at the Parish Center in Dunmore.  Call Scola ext. 12 or 13.

 NEXT MEETING – October 17, 2007, 9:00 a.m. at the Salvation Army.

 There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
